HOW DID YOU CHOOSE ANTIGUA, GUATEMALA?

Elizabeth's parents are from Guatemala. Elizabeth was born and raised in Texas so they would spend summers and holidays in Guatemala. Since she was little she has always dreamed about getting married in Guatemala.

La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City (GUA)

Do I need a Passport to travel to Guatemala?

Yes! Please check your passport expiration date NOW as Guatemala requires you to have 6 months of validity or you risk being turned away.

Do I need Guatemalan currency?

There will be many places that accept credit card however some shops and vendors will only accept Quetzal which is the Guatemalan currency. You can take out Quetzals at the airport once you land in Guatemala. We would suggest $100 to be prepared in the case that you do need it depending what you have planned on your free time. The currency rate is $1 equals roughly 7.5Q (quetzal). It varies day to day but generally speaking 75Q= $10 USD

Is Guatemala Safe?

Yes. The charming cobblestone streets of Antigua are safe for tourists, even if you are traveling alone. At night, the streets are equally safe, just don't make yourself an easy target and don't go walking off alone. Antigua is one of the safest cities in Guatemala and a place we fell in love with when we visited. Please take advantage of the transportation shuttle from Guatemala City to Antigua and the shuttles we will have available on the night of our wedding if you have any concerns

Guatemala is known as the land of eternal Spring! You can expect sunny days with temperatures ranging from 70-85 degrees during the day with temperatures cooling as low as 60 degrees at night.
